3 in 30: My Goals for October

(1) Re-evaluate My Fall Capsule Wardrobe... Now that I have completed the Twenty Twenty September challenge, I feel like I am in a better place to identify what I have that works, what needs to be replaced, what I still need now and what I will need as it gets colder.

And I would like to do that without undue influence from catalogs & undue strain on the bank account!!

(2) Create a Dressing Your Truth Type 3 Bedroom... I have spent a month or more working on creating a type 3 wardrobe, but have decided that I would like to support myself with those colors and textures in my bedroom as well.

(3) Create a Structured Homeschooling Plan for October & a Broad Plan for the Rest of the Year... The plan I had, which was to do lesson plans for the whole year, doesn't seem to be working. And I think it is going better to adjust as I go along. But I would like to plan ahead just a smidge.

I'm linking up today with Emery Jo for Fall Fashion Week. Thanks so much to all of you wonderful ladies who have stopped by to say hello and comment on my outfits! It has been great getting to know you all and hang out with you this week!!

Since today is the end of the Twenty Twenty Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge, I'll share my collage of my "extra" outfit...

I made a collage for the whole shebang and will post it Monday, but I noticed I left out an outfit. But who knows which one it was, LOL? So this collage is of my "extra", that I wore to the mailbox and back one day and I decided to take a pic.

What have you got planned for October?

Fall Fashion Week: Thursday ~ "She's Dressed in Yellow..."

Emery Jo is having a Fall Fashion Week linkup all week long and I thought it would be fun to participate since this is the last week of the Twenty Twenty Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge. ...

Several people encouraged me to continue trying the "honey bee" yellow from Coldwater Creek, so here it is in a pretty big dose :). What do you think?...

What did you pick for today?

Twenty Twenty September Favorites: And TWO MORE DAYS!

A Slightly Longer Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge...

So...guess who didn't look carefully at the calendar? It turns out that there are twenty-two weekdays in September, not twenty, as I had thought when I named and created this challenge. So instead of ending today on the 20th day, it won't officially end until Friday.

However, I will totally understand if you decide to call it quits today! No hard feelings.

But Claire and I will hang in there until Friday and we would love to hear from the others of you who do the same. We want to know what this experience has been like for you!

My Two Favorite Outfits from this Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge...

Do you have a favorite yet?

I have planned the next two days of outfits and I think, although it's only Wednesday, I am pretty sure what is likely to be my favorite outfit. Here I will show you, too (I will let you know Monday if I change my mind and will pick my absolute fave)...

My Favorite Accessory from this Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge...

I'm linking up today with Fall Fashion Week at Emery Jo's place and with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday...

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Week 4

Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Here's What I Wore Last Week...

What do you think? Though I am still evaluating yellow, I am loving the greens and the browns. What were your favorite outfits this past week?

Fall Capsule Favorites from the Week...

I did also like the green duster and the animal print scarf, but I think I have worn it so much, I'm getting tired of it. I doubt I'll wear it this week, just to give myself a break

I will be linking up today with Nina at Momma Go Round for Real Momma, Real Style and Emery Jo for Fall Fashion Week. And on Wednesday, I'll link up as usual with Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.

September's Goals: The Final Countdown ~ One More Week!

(1) Twenty Twenty September Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: This month, I have been hosting and participating in the Twenty Twenty September early fall capsule wardrobe challenge. My goal is to make sure they are a fit for me as an autumn and that they honor my dressing your truth type 3 style.

By the way, you'll remember that it was during the Celebrate Your Beauty conference that I found out I was a dressing your truth type 3. Just got hold of this video Anne Tuttle Brown created with clips from the conference.

It makes me teary to watch it! Such a powerful experience.

Anyway, although we still have one more week to go (almost), I would say I have done pretty well with honoring my type and have LOVED doing so! I have learned a lot about my style from doing this challenge. I always do!

Taking My Fall Capsule Wardrobe on the Road...

In last week's post, I asked everyone to vote on what I should wear to my friends' reception on Sunday afternoon. Here's what I chose...

What do you think? Did I do okay?

And here are a few more pics from the reception. I has SUCH a wonderful time!!! My favorite moments both involved dancing. One was the electric slide/cha cha slide/cupid shuffle trifecta and the other was when someone challenged one of my friends, Todd, half of the couple, to dance and he danced by himself.

I'm not sure which dance we were doing there, LOL!

That's me with Todd right after they got there and the next one is the couple, themselves, feeding each other cake...

(2) Create the Final Homeschooling Lesson Plans: I still have yet to create the actual lesson plans for the year, except for a very loose plan for September. So my goal is to get those lesson plans done once and for all!!

Nope. But I may go month-to-month because just in this month, so far, I have realized how much more math review we need than I thought we did.

(3) Create a Fall Jewelry Capsule: I have basically had to start over now that I know I am a dressing your truth type 3, and not only have I needed to replace A LOT of my clothes, but also need to need to replace almost all of my jewelry!

I could say I'm done. I certainly have "enough!" But I would like to have a gold necklace and a gold cuff to go with my gold earrings. And, of course, I continue to see other pieces that might just have to come home to me :).

How did you do this month?

Embracing Life as a Dressing Your Truth Type 3

Diving Into Dressing Your Truth Type 3

Here are several type 3 videos, some of them makeover videos. I warn you, the makeover videos may make you tear up a bit. They did me! There’s something about the end result, where the women seem so happy with the way they look, that moves me.

I also loved something Carol Tuttle says in one of the videos about type 3s: “You move people into action for something better. You inspire people to change their lives.” I may not be quoting it exactly right (memory’s not what it used to be) but something like that, and I love that concept about who we are!

I feel like waking up type 3 is like getting a Christmas present every day!

Think You Might Be a Dressing Your Truth Type 3, too?

As many of you know, I initially (and for almost a year) thought I was a type 2, so know that it’s possible to be wrong (LOL).

Where I went wrong was being so sure that I couldn’t possibly be a dressing your truth type 3 that I didn’t even pay attention to the type 3 material in the book or the online course. It was all there, but I didn’t see it! I didn't find out I was wrong until I got to the Celebrate Your Beauty conference.

To identify your dressing your truth type, take the online beauty profiling course. And then, come back and tell us all about what you discovered.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Week 3

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Week 3

This past week was the third in our Twenty Twenty Wardrobe Remix, our early fall wardrobe challenge. I am still doing well with my capsule of 20 pieces! You will notice, though, that my ivy green duster from Jessica London is becoming a favorite...

Favorites from My Fall Capsule Wardrobe

The outfits I didn't like as much were the ones I wore with yellow. Not sure why. I'll have to give it another try next week and see what happens.

My favorites were the ivy green duster with the animal print scarf and the coral maxi dress from J. Jill, with my brown lace cardigan from Roamans...

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Dresses Up a Smidge

And here's what I wore to the reception on Sunday. I had such a GREAT TIME!!! Thanks to everyone who helped me decide what to wear...

I will be linking up today with Nina at Momma Go Round for Real Momma, Real Style and on Wednesday, I'll link up as usual with Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.
