Monday with Mom: Three Generations of Style

Last week, on Monday, my son and I brought my mother breakfast and then, hung out with her for a couple of hours.

Most of the time we don't get our homeschooling started until late morning or early afternoon anyway, so this wasn't too big a change in our routine. But on Mondays, he has a ballroom dancing class, so we had to squeeze in the rest after we got back.

She seemed so happy to have us there! It's fun to treat her every now and again (like bringing her a big McD's sweet tea, which she loves)

Part of my reason for going was to bring her a lot of the clothes I am no longer wearing now that I know I am a dressing your truth type 3. Though she is as well, her coloring has softened over the years and I knew these colors would work better for her. She's much smaller, though, so her next-door neighbor will alter them for her.

My son adores her, so they had a great time hanging out. I had a good time talking with my mom, too, but they act like they are long-lost friends when they see each other...

As we were leaving, we all took pictures around what I think of as Mom's tree. That's because she is known for climbing it whenever she gets the impulse to do so...

I am linking up today with Nina from Momma Go Round for Real Momma, Real Style  and on Wednesday, I will link up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.

"I thought I didn't feel good in my clothes because I was not my ideal weight. I am still not my ideal weight, but since learning how to dress my truth I feel like I look good. I haven’t felt that way for years. And all thanks to this remarkable new way of seeing myself." –Michelle, posting on Carol Tuttle’s Facebook wall.

What a sweet post. I've always loved shopping for my mom. I can't pass things on to her anymore since I've gained soooooooooo much weight. I tell her she's lost it and I've found it. ha. I love that she and your son have such a good relationship. You can see the love in your pictures.

Hey Grammy Goodwill! Always good to see you. I like getting things for my mom, too. And boy, do I know what you mean about finding the weight she lost :).

Awww, that's sweet! Yes, they do have a very good relationship. I hardly ever got to see my mom's mom, except for holiday trips, because she lived so far away. So I like that they have been able to develop such closeness.

ClaireJustine, somehow I missed your comment! I'm with you, I was concerned about just how far up she was going to go. She's a pistol, that woman! :)
